Israeli strike in southern Lebanon reportedly kills at least 10

An Israeli missile strike in the city of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon killed at least 10 people — including two children — and wounded five others, Lebanese state news agency NNA said on Saturday.
The final death toll is still unconfirmed.
The Israeli military said on its Telegram channel that the airstrike had hit a “Hezbollah weapons storage facility” in Nabatieh. It also claimed strikes on Hezbollah military structures in Hanine and Maroun El Ras in southern Lebanon.
The attack is the latest in an escalation of violence in the region, weeks after a rocket attack in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights killed 12 people. Israel accused Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah movement of orchestrating the attack and retaliated by killing a senior Hezbollah commander in the suburbs of Beirut. The group denied it was responsible for the Golan Heights airstrike.
Negotiations on a cease-fire in Gaza, meanwhile, were paused on Friday and are set to resume next week after the U.S. presented a “bridging proposal” aimed at resolving the key differences remaining between Hamas and Israel.
The mediators involved in the talks — the U.S., Qatar and Egypt — said Washington’s proposal “bridges remaining gaps” between Israel and Hamas and “allows for a swift implementation of the deal,” according to a joint statement on Friday following discussions in Doha.
